Back in B.C.

1 min read
So I really haven't been around for a while, and yet I have paintings that should probably get posted on here... Life has been so crazy since February that this was the last place I was thinking of. Perhaps when things settle down a bit more and I have a job again, I'll get around to actually posting all the stuff that's been sitting around for months.

And since I don't have the patience or desire to relive the past few months, if you want to know how it is I ended up back in B.C., check out my blog: victoria-to-ottawa.blogspot.ca…

I have always wanted to be able to paint on my walls and let my creativity run free on the painfully white walls. However, living in apartment has never allowed this to be an option. Enter Ottawa. I now live in a townhouse and for the first time ever my walls are not white... and despite having a green canvas, I am have been given free rein to play with my paints all over my walls. What happens? I immediately end up with absolutely no idea of where to start or what to paint.

I have started, despite the lack of ideas, and I am quite sure I will be posting my progress and the evolution of my room. I am so excited. I didn't have to wait until I owned my own home to do this. Hurray!

photo updates will be to this location (I tried to put the photos into this entry, but dA would not cooperate): lytzki.deviantart.com/gallery/…

Oy. Okay, so this has been a strange two months. First went AWOL due to my grandmothers funeral in the beginning of May and then shortly after that decided to move across the country and spent the next two weeks madly packing up all my things so they would be quick and easy to ship when I got settled. I spent another two weeks after that travelling across Canada before arriving in my destination: Ottawa. Spent the last week in my final stint of hostel living and finding a place to live, which amazingly enough, I did within 3 days of arriving in the city.

So, if I haven't replied to you in a while, that is why. It's taken me this long to remember to actually sign on and update and check the... oh God... 10,000 items sitting in my inbox. Hopefully once I find a job, things will get a bit more normal. Although, at this point nothing is 'normal' in the way it used to be, rather it's a whole new normal. Hooray for change!

In Progress

1 min read
Such seems to be the theme of my life these days.

So many of my art projects are 'in progress' at the moment. Either in the idea stage or halfway to completion. I would love to be able to post more of what I'm working on, but with nothing really finished, I cringe at the thought of doing so.

Also, my life itself is in flux. I'm temping with the government right now, but I have no real steady job. I have no concrete plans for where I'll be in the next few months, let alone years.

I feel like I'm a work in progress.

Sold!

I'm extremely excited about this: today I sold my leftover Christmas cards at work. I've never been paid for my art before~! ...and it is definitely a good feeling. I managed to sell even the ones I'm not so proud of.
